Hello! Welcome to my digital portfolio. My name is Marianna Helene Maciel and I am currently a first-year student at Agnes Scott College. I am an eighth-generation Californian with strong roots in the San Francisco Bay Area. I previously attended an all-girls Catholic high school in Oakland, California, where I learned to cultivate a strong sense of female empowerment and spirituality. I am currently undecided about what I would like to major in. I have so many changing interests and passions ranging from Environmental Science to History to Psychology. My hope is to begin to build a strong sense of self during my time at Agnes that will guide me down the right path to my future. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my youngest sister, reading historical fiction novels, hiking, and trying new restaurants. So far, I have traveled to six different countries and hope to visit many more. I value my family very much as they are my biggest fans and greatest supporters. I am extremely thoughtful, thorough, and I always give my best at everything I do. My biggest fear is the unknown. Not knowing what will happen after making important decisions and taking action scares me. Thus, I try to live my life by following what makes me uncomfortable, and by stepping out of my comfort zone knowing that great rewards will follow.
